Lost Lake Trail
(Indian Peaks Wilderness)
Description:
The
Lost Lake Trail is a short trail (.4 miles long) leading to Lost Lake. The
trail begins on the Devils Thumb Trail about a quarter mile past the Devils
Thumb Bypass Trail intersection. The trail makes a moderate climb to the
lakes, crossing a small stream. As you approach the lake you'll notice a
lot of beaver activity with a large beaver lodge located at the north end
of the lake. The trail continues around the east side of the lake where
there are numerous spots for a picnic. Lost Lake contains brook and rainbow
trout.

The
Lost Lake Trail is located just outside the southeast boundary of the Indian
Peaks Wilderness and be reached via the Hessie Trailhead. Take County Road
130 west from Nederland about 5 miles to the Hessie Trailhead. Follow the
Devils Thumb Trail for about a mile to the Lost Lake Trail.
