Brackenbury Trail

Description:

The Brackenbury Trail connects the Mirror Lake Trail with the Beaver Creek Trail by climbing over a saddle. The trail begins on the Mirror Lake Trail at 11,275 feet, climbs through 11,585 feet, and descends to 10,950 feet at the Beaver Creek Trail. The trail follows a series of rock cairns through a saddle to the west of a prominent knoll. Once on top you get a panoramic view of all the mountain peaks. As you top the ridge you'll first see Crown Point straight ahead. The trail is fairly level as it crosses the tundra. It soon begins to descend down into the Beaver Creek drainage and the ruins of an old cabin. It travels by some snow fields and around the krummholz (wind-stunted spruce). You can see the trail below as you make the descent. This trail is of moderate difficulty.
