Bob & Betty Lakes Trail

Description:
The Bob and Betty Lakes Trail leaves the King Lake Trail at an elevation of 11117 feet and ends at Bob Lake at an elevation of 11580 feet in about .9 miles. The trail winds through areas of low willows and spruce, making a moderately steep climb to the lakes. The trail gets a little faint as it travels through some thick willows at times. It intersects what appears to be an old road bed just below Betty Lake. Turn right to get to the lake. The trail travels along the south shore of Betty Lake but becomes very faint. Bob Lake sits in a rock cirque northwest of Betty Lake below a snow field. There is no well defined trail up to the lake. You must pick your way through the willow patches and over a small boulder field to the bench where Bob Lake is located. Both lakes contain cutthroat trout populations. Only the east shore of Bob Lake is readily accessible for fishing.
This trail is located in the Middle Boulder Travel Zone. Camping, day hiking, and livestock are permitted in this area. No campfires are allowed (stoves only). The trail receives heavy day use but little overnight camping.
