Haynach Lakes Trail

Description:
The Haynach Lakes Trail leaves the Tonahutu Creek Trail at an elevation of 10,337 feet and climbs to Haynach Lakes at 11,056 feet in 1.5 miles. There isn't a sign identifying the trail, just a sign to the Haynach campsites. The trail immediately makes a steep climb up the ridge to the northwest. It winds its way up the ridge making several switchbacks. The trail levels off a little as you get farther up the ridge. It travels through a large meadow, crossing over to its east side. From here it makes a strenuous climb along side of Haynach Creek. Turning northeast for a while, the trail travels past some small ponds before reaching the lakes. It ends near the east side of the largest lake. The smaller lake is a short distance to the south.

Horses are not permitted on this trail. Llamas are, however, as one of the Haynach campsites is a llama site.
