Bear Lake Trail
Description:
The Bear Lake Trail is a .6 mile nature walk
around Bear Lake. The trail is probably the most popular trail in the park.
The large parking area is often filled in summer and the crowds can be quite
large. This trail is paved and handicap accessible. There is an 8% grade on
the southwest section of the trail that may be more difficult for persons
in wheelchairs. Numerous small mammals and birds can be seen on this trail.
They are quite tame from being fed by visitors. It is against park regulations
to feed these animals and they can carry diseases. No fishing is permitted
in Bear Lake. There are numerous benches around the lake to rest and enjoy
the scenery.
