Hang Lake
Description:
Hang
Lake is a small lake that lies to the west and about 440 feet above Blue Lake
in the Rawah Wilderness. The lake contains cutthroat trout and can be fished
from about fifty percent of its shoreline. High winds on this bench can make
it difficult to fish at times. Hang Lake is located in the Blue Lake Closure
Area. Camping is not permitted in the area around the lake.

Hang
Lake is located in the Rawah Wilderness and can be reached via the Blue Lake
Trail. Take Highway 287 north from Fort Collins to Laporte. Continue north on
287 to Highway 14. Travel west on 14 for 52 miles to the Blue Lake Trailhead
on the right side of the road. Hike the Blue Lake Trail for 5.1 miles to Blue
Lake. Hang Lake lies to the west about 440 feet above the trail. Follow the
stream flowing down from Hang Lake to Blue Lake.
