Lost
Lake is a beautiful small lake located just outside the southeastern boundary
of the Indian Peaks Wilderness. This lake contains both brook and rainbow
trout. All of the shoreline is accessible for fishing. There is a lot of debris
in the form of submerged logs, however, close to shore. There are several
picnic spots along the eastern shore.

Lost
Lake can be reached via the Devils Thumb Trail. Take the Devils Thumb Trail
from the Hessie Trailhead past the junction with the Devils Thumb Bypass Trail
(.84 miles). Stay on the Devils Thumb Trail another .25 miles to the Lost Lake
Trail. It is a short hike (about .4 miles) to the lake.
To
get to the Hessie Trailhead take County Road 130 west from Nederland about 5
miles to the trailhead and the east end of the Devils Thumb Trail.
