South Fork Poudre River
Description:
The
South Fork Cache la Poudre River begins in Rocky Mountain National Park and
enters the Cache la Poudre River about a mile west of the Narrows Campground.
The stream contains brook and rainbow trout. Rainbow trout are stocked. The
stream is about 24 miles long and ranges in elevation from 6,542’ to 10,728
feet. Fishing is prohibited from the Rocky Mountain National Park boundary
for a mile down stream.

Take
Highway 287 north from Fort Collins to Laporte. Continue on Highway 287 to Highway
14. Travel west on 14 for 20 miles to where the South Fork enters the Cache
la Poudre River. Continue another four miles to the Pinegree Park Road and take
this road to access the streams at various points.
