Upper Camp Lake

Description:
Upper Camp Lake is a very beautiful lake that lies about a mile south of the Camp Lake Trail in the Rawah Wilderness. The lake is accessible for fishing from about two thirds of the shore. The lake contains brook, rainbow, and cutthroat trout. Camping is permitted in the area around the lake.

Directions:

Upper Camp Lake is located in the Rawah Wilderness and can be reached via the West Branch and Camp Lake trails. The closest trailhead is the West Branch Trailhead. Take Highway 287 north from Fort Collins to Laporte. Continue north on 287 to Highway 14. Travel west on 14 for 50 miles to the Laramie River Road. Turn right and travel 6.3 miles to the West Branch Trailhead. Take the West Branch Trail for about 2.8 miles to the Camp Lake Trail. Hike the Camp Lake Trail for about four miles to Camp Lake. The trail to Upper Camp Lake is located near the southwest end of Camp Lake. Hike about a mile south to the lake.
