Rawah Lake #1
Description:
Rawah
Lake #1 is the northern most lake of the Rawah Lakes. It is located in the
Rawah Wilderness just south and east of the Rawah Trail. The lake contains
cutthroat trout and can be fished from just about anywhere along its shore.
Camping is permitted in the area around the lake except within revegetation
areas.

Rawah
Lake #1 can be best reached via the Rawah and West Branch trails from the West
Branch Trailhead. Take Highway 287 north from Fort Collins to Laporte. Continue
on Highway 287 to Highway 14. Travel west on 14 for 50 miles to the Laramie
River Road. Turn right and travel 6.5 miles to the West Branch Trailhead. The
trailhead is on the left side of the road. Hike 3.7 miles on the West Branch
Trail and 3.7 miles on the Rawah Trail.
